Mobile Fidelity & Pass Labs

I was shopping for some LPs and came upon this.

"Mobile Fidelity is pleased to work with a variety of engineering legends and companies including Tim de Paravicini, Ed Meitner, Pass Labs, Theta Digital and Sony Electronics. Our joint efforts to seek out the ultimate audio experience, has resulted in significant advances for the technology of music reproduction"

my question is.....what do they mean by "joint efforts" to what end have they contributed to "significant advances" ?

do they come to pass with needs and wants and help them (passlabs) tweak the equipment they need. or is this a way of saying "we use papas stuff"?

thanks, just wondering.

On a (perhaps??) similar note, I remember looking through the liner notes of many Telarc recordings and in almost every one, it was mentioned that the amps used for reference during recording and mixing were Threshold.

I thought that was the coolest thing ever, at the time. (I was a young teenager.)

It retrospect, I realize that I was right. 🙂 😀

Papa have some files named "MOFI CUTTER" and "MOFI REPRO" in his PC , as spotted in my last industrial espionage efforts :clown:

so , maybe he'll chime in with more details , while we can proceed with guessing that he covered both sides of LP production ... and which one demands more power ?

:devilr:
