I am still debating what the heck to do for my next speaker build and one big challenge is that I really haven't heard a lot of different speakers. If you happen to be in the twin cities area and willing to let me take a listen to your creation(s) I would love to hear what you have been building. I'm looking at bookshelves, monkey coffins, econowaves, floorstanders... interested in hearing it all.
I'm not normal, of course, but I can pass for it sometimes and will bring beverages of your choice if you let me know what you like. Please feel free to reach out by PM and I hope I can find time to connect with some of you.
Thanks much, Mike

Greets!
FYI/FWIW, this sort of 'shotgun' test is often way too broadband to be of much use, so at minimum recommend all be done using at least an 80 Hz/4th order (120 Hz preferred) hi-passed HT receiver (all speakers set to 'small') to both limit it to above all but the lowest ceiling/floor's fundamental eigenmode and a lot of the room's response and of course the DUT's playback system.

Mike, I am in the same boat. I always thought it would be nice to hear more designs as I move forward with my own. I am north of the cities, and have a couple of DIY speakers I built in rotation. I would be up for sharing some listening sessions.
@johnny5jz Sounds great! I'm heading to Iowa for the week and will be back up around the 8th or so, I'll reach out and we'll set something up. The only ones I have build at FHXLs and I'd be happy to demo those.
@GM Not sure if I get your comment, just looking to listen to some speakers that people have built. The more the merrier!

GM's comment is about the room being the dominant factor in evaluation of low end in a design.
What he purpose is to take a part of bass ( and sub bass) out of the equation ( by hp filtering) while evaluating as it is mostly the room you listen to.
The better would be outdoor but it's not always practical...
It'll help compare the different quality of different design in the range where the loudspeaker is the dominant factor, iow you listen 'more' to the loudspeaker own 'sound' that way.
That said i think you are right in listening the most differents design possible and i'm glad you found someone interested! Nothing like real life meetings and good time spent with someone with same interest. Lot to learn and share.
