Well here is a Mod for All the MartinLogans up to the Prodigy. pr of the Prodigy for the deal from hell,you no the deal thay Go or He goes,$400.for the Pr. One Panel did not work,Power surg,he sead?? So get them home an a part an the chip was dead.So i put a new chip in [Thanks to late Jim Powers] An the Led came on an then went back off well i new thay had power,so i look at the board an got the to come on to bias up the panel.I have had the Prodigy before ,can be great speakers. So now i have one speaker the stay ON all the time an the Other turns off if the input dose.
Ok No big deal right,so after playing for two days ,moveing on the something New,well i went back to the Prodigys in a week An i Found the one sounded like it had more output,This on an off ML came up with well i think there is more DUST on the panel than if left on all the Time the Panel Bias is Neg. You need AC to turn on the MLpanels an i had wonted to see if the on off set sound bad or not,All People that have the older logan have this in the Amps path,So i Needed 6-10ACV to trun on the panels All the time So i go to Rat Shak get a $10.12v tranfourmer.Now I can get the panel on all the time like the other Prodigy.An get the Amp out of the setup
Yes it dose LOAD the Amp,yes is dose Sound diff without the feed comeing off the Amp,An after one week of the panels being on all the time 1-2dbl more output Sweet sound ,Big sound
Fuller Sound EZer to drive, an you can jus take the tranfourmers OUt if you wont to go back too The on an off.All The Logan i have an well have well now be on all the time IT a NEW DAY for Any Of the CLSs $20. for a pr.12vAC Tranfourmers
I would not put the transfourmer on the crossover board.
