The woofer coil is often further from the listener. When this is done without measurement you may consider this in view of the more shallow rolloff. For example, 3cm of distance would make up 60 degrees at 2kHz.

Do what I suggest in my post #19 AND arrange for an equal distance from the listener's ears to both tweeter and woofer.

This is problematic for any 2-way loudspeaker system. The best approach I think is to design assuming ideal conditions while realizing that the ideal conditions almost all the time will not be met.
