Judging by the pictures alone (I know nothing about this cable apart from what you have presented) I would guess that it was designed to be efficient at extracting money from the bank accounts of audiophiles. It is almost certainly quite effective at conveying music from amp to speaker too, as would be any sufficiently thick cable.
