OK - I have the speaker side off. There isn't much glue on the wood side, it just looks like a roughly-cut line inside the groove where the baffle goes. There is some clue on the plastic baffle that is "oh so fun" to remove, but I'm working on it.
A few clarifying questions:
1) Just to be sure - even when you're putting the side panel back on, you only glued the baffle in on 3 of the 4 sides? I.e., when its all said and done, the plastic baffle will have only been glued on 3 of the 4 sides? I'm concerned that the 1 unglued side would still rattle.
2) I have "gorilla glue clear" - will that work? It doesn't list plastic as something it adheres to on theri website. How thick did you apply it?

No- no rattlting at all, and the speakers are now used in a home theatre room, and get played regularly and loud.
