Mismatched horn throats and cd exit angles

The Radian 951be has a reverse taper at the exit. Here’s what Radian said “With the 951, the aluminum insert mates seamlessly against the center pole and creates a taper from 1.6" to 1.4" over a distance of 0.872". The 1.4" diameter exit of the 951 closely matches the area of the phase plug slits.” -6.5 degrees.
So I’m mounting the
Radian 951be 1.4” with JBL 2352 1.5” with a custom aluminum adaptor 3/8 inch thick with 7.5 degree angle to get from 1.4 to 1.5 in as smooth a way possible. Any thoughts?

The adapter's transition from 1.4"(35.6mm) to 1.5" (38mm) over a 3/8"(9.52mm) distance will be smoother than the JBL 2352's diffraction throat:

Your adapter's 2.4mm expansion transition shouldn't cause any problems.
