Board A
PCM1704 chips with one white dot - known to be J graded by BB at some point of time.
Important thing to note is these chips are recycled chips from a very reliable seller, with proper equipment and controlled heat to remove the chips.
I have run the board for the past 3 days without power down and playing music, and it is working without any issues at all. Rock steady.
Board + shipping registered & tracking = 185 USD

Board B
PCM1704 K graded. These are bought as NOS, is truly brand new chips, not soldered or removed from any boards.
If you need to know who I bought these from, I will tell you if you purchase the board. They are from a very reliable member here whom many have bought rare chips from. That person has requested not to be mentioned here openly because he has stopped selling his items and too busy with real life issues to handle requests here.
Board + shipping registered & tracking = 270 USD

Wow, very tempted with kit A. Rare as rocking horse teeth.

What is your impression of the sound with these Tan, up there with AD1862? You are an expert on the NOS chips now 😉
Hello Rich @passive420
I am not the NOS Chips expert, Miro is the expert....😆
Silky smooth.... totally no graininess to worry about despite testing with some lowly op amps.
I would say it is easier to make it sound good than the PCM63, which requires some care in choice of IV options or some passive parts.
Less bass than the AD1862, but i the PCM1704 has more resolution and details without the brash.
I know some mentioned that the PCM1704 is not as good as PCM63 or even the AD1862.
But in my system, it has the finesse, delicacy and resolution of a fine player.
Well, opinions are just opinions.

@Will2226 sorry pal I took it.

I have too many DACs but really wanted to try the PCM1704. Should I want to sell this one on, you will be the first to know 😉 Ultimately if I can source a pair of PCM1704 chips I'd like to build one with JLsounds USB on board.

In the meantime I have PCM58 and AD1865 here if you fancy them.

UPDATE : Another Board is Now Available

A fresh new board has been completed and tested.
No op amp will be provided since i believe most of you would have your own stash of op amps, so as to avoid unnecessary costs.
Two single op amp is required for the IV portion of the board.

Board + shipping registered with tracking = 180 USD.

Important note to add : The PCM1704 chips are recycled.

Hi @EUVL,
Slipped my mind to mention like i did for the above J graded chips which was already sold. This new board are mounted with recycled chips.
I have just added a note to the listing for this board.
Not from Chinese sources. Carefully removed with heat control.
The board with the K chips (Board B) are brand new unused.
