Pixel fading seems to be an issue as these age. Sooner or later one of us is gonna have to go in there and figure out who the OEM is.

I have a first gen SHD, I make the display turn off after 30 seconds - this is great, but would have been way better if it had been a feature from the get go and not some 18,000 hours after I plugged it into the wall. The pixels are somewhat faded here and there but I don't really care. It's configured primarily as crossover between subs and mains, PEQ and Dirac engine, CH1. and CH.2 go out on spdif to a soon to be modified DCX which I use as a 2 channel 3 way crossover with some EQ, time delays for driver offsets, etc. I do not use any of the other features.
Perhaps you can purchase a replacement display from MiniDSP? I am not sure how helpful customer service will be in this regard, but worth a shot.
