Hello guys,
I do have a couple of full-size wire strippers, but they are not very convenient for confined spaces.
Sometimes, when you're trying to be really neat with your build, the best way (for me at least) is to solder one end of the wire in place, lay out the wire inside the chassis and then trim it to fit precisely. Then you try to strip the other end, and that's where the problems arise.
I'd like to have the smaller tool for this job. I'm thinking of something with the size of, say, Leatherman Squirt ES4 (I do have PS4 and I don't need another multitool though), capable of dealing with 16-18AWG down to 24-26AWG (and preferably cheaper than the Leatherman).
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

At work, we had Hakko soldering tweezers for removing SMT components. They worked great for heat-stripping wire-wrap and light gage hookup wire.
It's easiest to form the entire wire first, before connecting either end. And you won't accidentally damage
something else trying to strip the end of a captive wire.

Like I said, pre-stripping doesn't always work for me. Still would like to have options.
As for thermal stripping, I have to think about the whole concept. Seems too bulky at the moment, but who knows...

I use one of these.

There is a metric version too 0.5 to 4 mm sq

Thank you, but I'm looking for something of like half of that size.
One of my current wire strippers is a couple of cm shorter than this, and it's still too big.

Just desolder it, take it out, strip other end, put it back. Simple as that.Hello guys,

I’m a fan of these for tight spots. Can pre-adjust the strip length stop too so less fumbling around: Jonard Tools ST-550 ABS Adjustable Precision Wire Stripper, 18-28 AWG https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006C4BWXC/
Something like this?

Beat me to it.

I find the Jokari Super 4 fits anywhere you can access, as they are automatic just poke them on the end of the wire and strip away!

I was able to source the Jokari Super 4 Plus locally, and it arrived today.
I'm quite happy with it - ohdsp, thank you very much for the suggestion!
This thing is even able to strip PTFE insulation cleanly - at least, the Soviet MGTF wire, though it takes two passes (make one pass, rotate the wire 90 degress, then make another pass).
