mini dsp as high end dac

I am wondering how well my mini dsp 8x8 would with the minidigi as a dac from my squeezebox touch and straight to my amps. Hoping this will be a benefit of sound quality over going analog from the squeezebox to my denon avr to the mini dsp then to my amps. Any tried this with opinions on quality of the dac? I'm open to ideas and opinions.

@ Keager,

Going digital in and removing un-required conversions (AD/DA) will always benefit both on sound quality but will also simplify your gain structure. Going the miniDIGI + miniDSP8x8 directly to the amp will work very well.
