Hey guys, If building a Mini-A stereo amp, could one use a xlr as opposed to rca's for input and tap the 2 rear pos spk terminals for out-put ? If so what kind of power potential would it have ? 😱
The heat-sinks are much smaller and cheaper, plus I like the idea of true mono's ! So is bridging do-able ?
yes it is
you can do it even without balanced input
enable balanced inputs (as in any Aleph with balanced inputs )
then fed one channel on positive input leg (negative grounded )
other channel fed on negative input leg ( positive input grounded)
of course - output from two hots

2ch aleph mini (1ch bidge)= around 60-65W dissipation
1 ch aleph30 = 90W dissipation.
but you can run aleph30 on lower rail voltage to drop dissipation and also power.
you will not get more classA power vs dissipation if you bridge 2 aleph mini's.
and aleph mini bridged amps will want to see 16ohm speakers.
I have a 400va, 2 x 18v transformer would this work for a stereo Aleph 30 ? If so what kind of output power could this configuration offer ? Also If using 4) 120mm tall x 200mm wide x 50mm deep heat-sinks 2 per channel be to small for this set-up ?

The heat-sink I'm talking about is a 3U 120mm tall. This heat-sink has a temperature coefficient of 0.5 C/W How many watts could this heat-sink dissipate ?

0.5C/W and 2 sinks pr side? so 0.25 C/W pr side. you can get away with 100W dissipation pr side if your ambient is 25C or less. and if you get the heat spread well over the sinks surface.
