yeah, we knew those LCDs. they are wonderful. only one problem though: they are expensive. Don't ask me how expensive they are, it will cost your arm and leg, literally.

anyway, reflective: shine light onto it, you will see the image.
transmitive: all lcd monitor are this type. you put a light source on its back and you see the image.
mono: b/w, grayscale, no color.
color sequential: not sure, but i guess it is show each of three colors (RGB) in grayscale sequentially.

Good news is you don't need to take anything apart. instead, you need to put a lot of things in: a contraller card for video signal (no, it is not the video card in your computer), a color wheel to shine R,G,B color to this seqential colored lcd at right time or a optical that can mixed R,G,B color channles together. At the end you will spend more on this DIY (if you can DIY at all) than buying a commercial LCD projector from store.

any question?

colour wheels

from my understanding the colour wheel is not to colour a lcd its to control the colour of the light(ie colour temp) in school we had them and if u spin the colour wheel infront of a light it comes out perfectly white depending on the quality of the filters that is, i personaly cant see a colour wheel to colour a lcd, imagine how fast the thing would have to be cantroled in order to keep up with a tv pic! beter yet u would have a blue, red or green screen each time cos there is no way u could just get a set of eyes blue and the rest say brown or purple when the colour wheel floods the pic at one given time, thats why i would have to say its for colour temp ajusting of the light, maybe for the light or lcd with age as it declines in colour, most projectors have this feature these days and u cant change the colour temp of any bulb unless u alter the gas inside or the voltage thats it, but with mh u cant change it and the only way to change it is with a colour wheel

lcd from camcorders

i'mlooking for the connecting diagram
they are tft monitor
if it's possible
the good job is to bye a camcorder that doesn't work
i got one too

Those lcds have low resolution.

Yeah....The DLP mirrors shift according to which color the light is being filtered by on the color wheel. Talking microsecond shifting.

I'd like to see a zoom of those DLP mirrors working real time...must be beautiful...like a super shiny diamond or something...
