This looks like it will work a little lower (being more "robust") due to the rising low freq. response while having a wider dispersion profile:

If you want to use a smaller less efficient woofer(s) then consider the Airborne RT-4001 which Jeff Bagby measured here:

thanks again folks.
A quick question regarding the frd that was posted by Cradle22..
Since the frequency response begins around 1khz, would it be safe to approximate a 2nd order roll off to complete the .frd?
Or would the hornloading change this roll off to nearer 3rd order?
Im just being picky here since im simming a 4th order crossover at -6dB at 3.5khz, and the neo should be well out of passband anyway.

frd/zma's start around 891 Hz and since you will attenuate >30 dBs you don't need the low frequencies.
thanks again Inductor! I thought i was probably worried about nothing.
The boxsim plots look promising, and im hoping that translates into as good a sound, since im an octave away from the AL130 breakup at 7k.
Once again thanks!
I will post my plots and final circuit later, in case anyone is interested.

Hahaha I know. And yes I know. Nevermind...

put as simply as i can it could be good. Small Vas, slightly higher Q, and ok Fs of 60.Could be crossed with a dogleg 3rd order 6db slope around Baffle step, 3rd or 4th order HP higher up. I THINK thats possible anyway lol
I have at home Jordan JX92s drivers and thought to pair them with the same tweeter but not sure about it...
Hmmm, Im sure the jordans would 'fit' almost, if not equally to the Alpairs.
If I had a pair of Jordans hiding away, id give it a try. 😀
The woofer choice I have 'in stock' at home is Audax AP100ZO, AP130ZO; Visaton AL130; mission CP134, CP168.
With the AL130 & NeoCD3.5H I get a reasonable simulation:
Although I feel I may be stretching the AL130 a little crossing it as high as ~3.5khz, with its main breakup peak at ~7khz, only an octave higher.
The others worth trying are the AP130's, they'll go high enough, but it gets ragged up there.
Aside from those, the Id considered the Ti100 visaton, with its higher breakup; but im not 'stuck' on staying with Hardcone drivers. The supravox was interesting, probably 'not my cuppa tea', but appealing from the high efficiency aspect of things. Nomex cones were interesting too, although ive never heard one; and it could sound like the high voltage insulating paper it is

I just checked NeoCD3.5H at solen.ca and they were pretty cheap... Could not resist and got them while I like how they look like... In time I will build the cabinets (not now, have to many other things to do) and pair them with Jordan JX92s. Just need a x-over...
and if someone is wondering how cheap they are... 64$ each...
