I'm thinking of a 3-way with 15" woofer (maybe B&C 15BG100), 1" tweeter (maybe Scanspeak D2905/9700) and a suitable midrange (maybe ~300Hz-~3.5KHz).
I would have liked to consider the Volt VM572 - the speaker that inspires me is the ATC SCM150 ASL Pro... but I don't want to spend that much.
I would really like to use the 18Sound 6ND430 because of its cost but I am also looking at the AE TD6M, because I've had great experiences with the TD15H (I've built two huge subs with them, and they're fantastic).
How do these two drivers compare? Are there any others I should consider?

Did you mean Volt VM752 which is the 3". They do a cheaper 2" the VM527
Correct, I meant the vm752. Thank you.
PHL 1120/1130 are great drivers as well and can also handle lot of power
Thank you... Looking into it right now...
I use the 6ND430 actively crossed to the AE TD15S with very good results. If you need more output at 300hz maybe consider the 18 sound 8nmb430. The 8s will give you more sensitivity and output at 200-500hz at the cost of dispersion at 2Khz.
Beware the low Vas of the 15BG100. I have found low Vas B&C drivers are not so great at lower power. They're designed for compact high output systems always run at high power. This is one of the advantages on the AE woofers, they sound great at all levels. YMMV
