WRT the MLTL, without all the details about all I can say is that assuming a very high Qt driver was not used [> ~0.707], then typically 'deep bass' [relative to its Fb] is where the MLTL 'shines'. Think well damped sealed except with more LF gain BW.

OK, so it is and if MJK doesn't have a solution, then I'm not qualified enough to help. Sorry 🙁 I recently acquired a semi-recent laptop with W7 to use initially for my on-line connection now that XP is officially 'dead', but if it won't 'play nice' with MC, etc., then that's all it will ever be.
So many 'foreign' folks have had troubles that was cured by changing the machine to decimals from commas that I thought it might help, but I imagine that was probably MJK's first solution.

A bit off topic, but I do have Mathcad 8 Explorer and the licensed worksheets working happily under Win7. I can't launch the worksheets directly, but if I launch Mathcad (running in XP compatibility mode, not sure if that is strictly necessary) then use the File, Open dialog to open the desired worksheet all is good.

You would be quite right about the Qt. That is why i counted on designers flaw much before you got to say that MC sheets are working properly or that i didn't hear something right.

FWIW, you can still get a fairly high sound quality [SQ] bass well below Fs with a MLTL/high Qt driver pairing, but the relatively large [huge] cab trade-off is usually a deal breaker in today's mini-micro 'world'. It can be done with somewhat smaller cabs of course, but much of its bass acoustic gain BW is traded for it, though in a high gain room or at least a decently rigid/massive construction corner, it can still be a viable alignment.

Good to know, thanks! I assume you mean the demo version MJK has [had?] available on his site. Maybe you and Zvu can compare MC/W7 machine installation details to see where they might differ.
I have a copy of it, but very little time/patience/enthusiasm ATM to experiment, especially since W7 is so different from the earlier operating systems.

noob question alert! why do why need port/vent for midrange , if not reinforcing bass?
If I want any bass out of the mid-range, I choose a driver that 'fills the bill' as is. My reason for venting it is to either increase its ~flat BW to allow a better blend at the XO point and/or obviate the need for a low pass and/or a zobel.
