Hey folks,
I'm doing a show where I'm having major issues with a mic cutting out. It's the only show of my day that has the issue and I can't recreate it myself.
The mic audio keeps on cutting out for several minutes at a time but I'm still getting a signal as it's showing when I solo it. It's definitely not a mic or cable issue as suggested by online mic test. I have tried replacing both and the rest of the channels on the desk work.
Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Did you say that you tried a different mixer channel, using the same mic and cable?
Does everything cut out at the same time?

I have had channel assignment buttons become intermittent. So the microphone signal can be heard through the "solo" path but does not make it to the channel mixers. This was on a Mackie (nothing against Mackie - this mixer has been over-used). The solution is to "exercise" the channel assign buttons by operating them at least 10 times before each use. Also exercise the channel-to-main mix buttons.
It could be many other things, but you might try this and see.

Yes, go through the mixer and clean all switches, sockets, and pots with DeOxit.

If there are many potential places in your mixer for a poor contact, it would help to narrow
things down by functional testing. If cleaning does not help, switch contacts can also be
mechanically worn and will have similar symptoms.

I don't think the Mackie has inserts on each channel, but it can sure be a problem if they do. I use a nylon .22 caliber gun brush to clean them.
I don't think we know what mixer the OP has. But I will say one trouble I have faced in MANY Mackie boards is the darn ribbon cables going intermittent. Usually pull the mof and reseating them makes it work another year.
I don't know if it's still available, but Cramolin has rescued (or used to, at least) many well-used switches, pots, and relay contacts over the years. Should work on those ribbon cable IDC sockets, too.
