Hello guys!
Does anybody know the wire color codes for the input trans that is sold by Triode? The site states that it's very similar to the Jensen JT-115K but none of the wire colors match up. I didn't get a data sheet or even a packing slip.
I called them, then emailed...I think they're on vacation. I guess that's what people do in July! Very frustrating. I was going to start to build a small mic preamp this weekend.
Thank you, John

Do you have a DMM?
If not, you can use your guitar amp: if combination of wires is right you would be able to hear loud sound connecting a dynamic mike to primary, and secondary to guitar input jack. There are not so many combinations to try.

I do, but how do I make sure the windings are in phase? I don't have a scope.
Is it hard to resolder them later?
Polarity matters when you use more than one mike connected to the console to capture sound of the same source. Otherwise polarity flipping may be desirable, for example for better separation of drums.
Thanks, Wavebourn....You were right, it was a snap to figure out. Red/Blue/Black = primary. Yellow/White = secondary.
There are some pretty cool tube mic preamp schematics and project ideas on the Jensen website:

I suppose black and white are cold ends.
Blue may be good for 48V through 3.3K resistor phantom power.
