UV- the enemy in my book. Well my outer envelope on the MH bulb has alike a blister mark. Its had it. Its like a small tiny little chip in the glass with no glass missing. Like a bullseye but not. Know what i mean? Is this gonna be bad. Its been there I think but I just didnt notice. I mean since it was new. I hear that plain glass actually filters like 80% UV from the light. I have the entire front of bulb housing glass. It then passes through 3 dif lens to focus light-is then reflected into a collemated beam at panel and then goes through the BEF film and two glass substraite layers+ the front objetive lens which is a triplet. Shouldnt this surley have filter the UV out? Just trying to be safe. I also hear higher watts its more of a prob. My bulb is only 175watt MH. The ding in the glasss faces the back where fan is and not projected or reflected forward onto the lcd or screen upfront. Think Im safe? Really worries me.
As for brightness-color I love it. Best Ive had yet. Very good setup. And the contrast got better with BEF film by 3m. Less color bleed too. And I can use a two AA batt. flash light. Shine it at screen and still see the imag eover it. Dont know how many lumens but its pretty good. 🙂
