Merry hollidays !!!!!!!!!! Upcoming projects ?

I'm busy with the own design MLTL try out for the new Mark Audio CHN110, as i finally got the wood. The covid lockdowns make it hard to find wood and cnc services (i don't have a full workshop to cut it myself yet). It's MDF as it's a testbuild and good plywood is nowhere to be found now down here...

Karlson midrange for 6PEV13, a K for my cheap but beefy EM 10cx (which could employ a koax K-tube too). how could one resist that chunk of ferrite on a 10cx ? 😀

Big Presence

Long ago I built a pair of Lotus^2 with 4 Mark Audio Drivers. It impressed me so much and I still use them for music. This year I want VOLUME using a similar design I.E. a front facing double mouth design. Preferably with a Mark Audio drivers again. Looking for plans for such a design, Scott has some with rear facing mouths, any front facing possible?

I have a new pair of Fostex woofers that were used in the NX6 monitors. They look exceptional stout and well built. The surrounds remind me of the Purifi PTT6.5. That folder pentagonal ridged cone is wild - supposedly much stiffer than a plain conical cone. I think Fostex crossed these at 5kHz almost making this a “full range”.

Here is the DATS measurement:

Could this be the poor man’s Purifi? With a Qts of 0.46 and smaller Vas of 0.33 cu ft. it might make an excellent MLTL of tapered TL speaker with a super tweeter.

So many things I would like to try but what to do with them after completion? If there were more audiophiles in the world my dream might be to have a shop where I could explore my fantasies then offer them for demonstration leading to sale. Meanwhile back to reality I have a couple of K cabs in my garage collecting dust (along with my 59 Triumph T120 that needs restoration).

Happy holidays!

Starting the long process to build a pair of Peerless TC9FD line arrays. Got the basic cabinet plans sketched out and a big box of drivers. 😀. Building prototype enclosures to evaluate single driver response.
