I haven't noticed another thread here mentioning it, but Merlin Blencowe (AKA "The Valve Wizard", or Merlinb) has released a brand new book on hi-fi valve preamp design. This is a follow-on to his highly regarded book an guitar and bass preamps, and is really something that should be in every tube sniffer's library, even if you already own Jones, etc.

I just placed in my order.
I was inspired by shoog to build FV-5A. I use it or my modified (6922 based) Rozenblit grounded grid preamp. They both sound very good driving my biamped all tube two way Altec speakers (416,802-8G,811 horn). It does not get any better than this, I keep telling myself!
