Member database compromised?

Hi, I'm a new member. Joined a few days ago have learned a lot on the forum already.

The reason for my post is that someting very suspicious happened when I joined.

Just one minute after recieving my welcome e-mail from diyaudio I also received a similar welcoming e-mail from Wattpad addressed to the same e-mail acount.

Is it a coincidence? Anyone had that happen to them too? I have never heard of Wattpad before.

Hmmm definitely sounds suspect, but could also be coincidence. I guess wait and see if anyone else has had the same experience.

I don't blame DiyAudio at all, because that e-mail address gets used for various log-ins. It was the timing that made me suspicious and also the name Wattpad seemed to be related to audio stuff, but upon investigation it seems I was wrong in assuming that. Therefore, I'll have to conclude that it was a coincidence - if nobody else had the same experience.

Yes I did a search on wattpad and it seems to be some sort of phone app for reading books. I also checked my own email to see if I'd recieved any spam from them but haven't (figuring if they had got hold of the email database they would probably do a mass mailing).

Fingers crossed it is just a coincidence 🙂
