Hi guys,
I have an old Meazzi Manager Combo in for repair. Have managed to fix the amplifier (without schematics - they are like hens teeth to get hold of - anyone?).
However, this amp also has a 3-head Meazzi Tape Echo on it as well. I have it in my hand now but it's missing two valves. I've been unable to find any schematics for this particular unit as well and I don't really want to guess what should be in there. Can anyone tell me what valves (and in which position) are used in this unit? The unit merely plugs in to the main amp body using a crude form of edge connector. Would be nice to get it working if it's possible.
It would also be useful to know the tape length of these units as I'll have to make one up.
Any information you can offer would be appeciated!
Thanks.

Post model number and a picture.
My first thought was "it has to be a re-badged something else", and a picture would provoke an "ah-Ha!"
But I found this listing for PA306 8-head and it is like nothing I have ever seen.

No, it's not a re-badged anything. It's a genuine Meazzi. A few pics enclosed. It's a Meazzi Manager.
I'd still like to get a schematic for the amp though. There are a few tonal issues that 'd like to check. Usually t's possible to get something from someone but this schematic seems to be very rare. I have most things but not this one.
Good call on the tapeloops link! It didn't even occur to me to try eBay for them.
Some pics are enclosed of the amp and ts associated tape echo. I did eventually find out that the valve on the left of the pic is ECC83 and the one on the right is EL84 so I have a starting point at least.
Any further info anyone can contribute would be useful.
Thanks!

Looking at the middle picture the motor looks straight out of the late 50,s/early 60,s UK "Dansette" mass produced record player although the valves are higher standard than the ones used in it.
I am amazed at the prices they sell for and the respect they hold .
I too have not come across a schematic for it, I didn't even know they were Italian although the name should have been a clue .
There is a Meazzi 666 schematic here -

Hi.
I came across that too but the diagram is incomplete - and it's a transistor circuit anyway so it's nowhere near the same.
I already mailed them at Meazzi.net for information but as yet, no reply.
There is a Meazzi.org.uk as well but they only deal with the echo machines.
Maybe someone will stumble across this post at some point and come up with the holy grail...
I've been in this business for a LONG time.... I've never come across anything that I couldn't obtain using my list of contacts but everyone has drawn a blank with this one. It's very elusive. Either the line wasn't popular or they only made a small number of these units. Oddly they are still fetching good money on the used market ???
I think I might just have to wait...

Have you checked out this web site? Manager 1965 | IgorAmp
It will be difficult to source a schematic. Meazzi did not had a production facility, but it contracted the manufacturing to small independent firms in Italy, and also sold rebranded items. They are mostly known for drums and guitars, but being a commercial entity wihoutt internal technical facilities, they sold almost anything. Drums and guitars are sought after because at the height of the business, Meazzi managed to have a very strong product placement to well known artists, so Meazzi instruments of that era are higly collectible.

There is also a very big following in the UK of Cliff Richards backing group--The Shadows re- Hank Marvin their websites have info on Meazzi as Hank used them.
Just a guess but I think this tape echo would be really close to their echomatic, minus a few playback heads. Those heads were switched in and out of the total circuit, but you would still have basically similar record and playback circuits. You may need to trace the whole circuit out but it would be a starting guide..

That el 84 is the oscillator circuit, there’s a small coil in there, be very careful with it they are hard to find, they oscillate around 50khzNo, it's not a re-badged anything. It's a genuine Meazzi. A few pics enclosed. It's a Meazzi Manager.

the ecc83 is preamp, the guitar signal mixes with the oscillator signal to get it on the tape, the record head is just the same as the play heads but the erase is different

Maybe you found this page, maybe not.
http://www.cricrimusic.fr/vieux catalogues/meazzi/catalogues meazzi.htm
It brings back memories of my early repair days way back in the late sixties.
Plenty of M3, FBT, Farfisa, and more Italian made amplifiers and echo chambers.
Many were copies from copies.

Hi!
i am trying to repair the same unit
if you still need it : the tubes on the reverb unit are EL84 and 12AX7. You can easily find wich goes where by looking at the heater wiring (12AX7 has pin 4 and 5 joined).
I do have questions, maybe you can help : my main power transformer is dead. I need to know the voltages of the secondaries. For the HT and heater i can guess, but i don't know wich voltage needs the AC motor. Do you know or can you measure it ? Thanks !
