There are probably a wide range of audio/hifi magazines around the world (in many languages).

Hi-Fi News and Record Review measures speed error at 33.33rpm; time to audible stabilisation; Peak Wow/Flutter; Rumble (silent groove); Rumble (through bearing); Hum & Noise and power consumption.

Thanks for reminding me Hi-Fi News and Record Review is available online , I used to buy the magazine along with other well known UK audio magazines of the time.

I still miss the Hi-Fi Choice yearly books with full tests and graphs of cartridges-loudspeakers -turntables-amplifiers etc although I have some 1980,s versions ,even oscilloscope shots were displayed on the cartridges and full specifications as well as sound opinions from the relevant UK "golden ears ".

Yes Duncan, I treasure the 1985 and 1986 issues of the Hi-Fi Choice Best Buy Guides which I have retained.

I dig them out every now and again for a nostalgic reminder of how thoroughly and objectively turntables, loudspeakers etc. were reviewed in that era.

Hi-Fi World claims it is the only UK hi-fi magazine which has in-house testing.

I clicked on it Galu and saw an old favourite an HP 3651A spectrum analyser , Stewart's of Reading is still selling them --£650.

Your right about in-house testing , the most well known UK public help website I was on has outsourced its testing and gone down market as has its magazine so don't rely on their choices now being the best.

PS-II: What about magazines from Russian, China, Italy, France, Slovenia and Spain particularly for the wide range of currently manufactured record Player/Turntables ?
