MD 500

I have a Celestion MD 500 that is measuring only 3.6 ohms. (nominal 8 ohms)
Why is it so low & is it possible to get it back up to 6 or more ohms?
It is a spare, not in service at this time.

Maybe you have overheated the coil. You would need to replace it.

You measured the DC resistance or what? Have you another MD 500?

Found this on the bay : being labelled as Brand New ! How does a French, one person trader, have access to 65 of these, with supposedly 57 sold.???!!
MIght it be worth trying for $70 Canadian?
Voice coil only, not the plates or gaskets.
