Good morning,
I’m looking for a direct replacement 14 pin intermediate frequency chip that was used on the Macintosh MX113 tuner/preamp. I’m looking at the NTE 744. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

I would contact the mfr directly, they probably have some original parts left. Or check with their local dealer.
Do you think they are defective?

I think so, the FM/AM has zero signal strength. Very common problem with this model. I’ve read it may be a Motorola part.I would contact the mfr directly, they probably have some original parts left. Or check with their local dealer.

Surely the AM and FM tuners are separate circuits. More likely the meter and related circuit is the problem.
Very unlikely both AM and FM have failed at the same time. Check S301.

Look for a dirty switch S301, or a related bad connection or solder joint on or near the meter or switch.
Otherwise the AM and FM tuners are completely separate electrically.
Use a small amount of deoxit D5 spray cleaner on S301.
