And yes I have always dug the looks of McIntosh gear! And they sound good too🙂
On a side note I don't own any myself, but down at our "jam room" where we play in our band there is an old MC30 in beautiful condition that was used as a PA in a funeral home for decades that I get to use for a guitar power amp. I don't push the amp at all, it stays big and clean sounding, I usually push my 12AX7 based preamp I built with stompboxes to get a hotter sound.
For those interested, McIntosh called me back about the IC. They want $40 dollars for one and it's on backorder. They wouldn't disclose what IC they are using except for the McIntosh model number. So it looks like I am going to go with the PGA2311 for $10.
