MB Quart tweeters

Just because that titanium tweeter has a low FS does not mean it can cross over low. It might have quite a bit of distortion down low like the Vifa XT25.

You are right. The MB's were not my first choice. I had to order two seas 1189 and the mbs were on sale

Also you'd be restricted in SPL because of xmax. it'd be fun to try out those MB quarts, but if you want a metal dome that crosses low try the Seas 27TBFCG magnesium/aluminum dome.

The mb is just a low price way for me to work with metal a second time

Yup it would be nice of the mb's work out but they dont it's ok. Plan to build a pair of active speaker for a ipod they would go nicely with the pair of Seas 6.5" woofers I have. Either way tweeters will be used

btw I love the responses. Alot to think about

MB quart 2" dome mid

Hi all,

just curios, this midrange seems to me identical to the legendary
driver employed in the old Thiel CS5 ( square flange).
I am wondered because they claimed 1000Hz first acoustic order high/pass!!
Am I wrong?

Cheers,
Inertial

My name is willie mclean and im looking for a pair of 1" Titanium Dome tweeters for my MB Quart 850's, part # 95-6549, 4 ohm. Would you please check and see if you have a pair you would like to sell. I will look for your reply. Thx.

Hi Chris,

Both of my tweeters from a pair of Quart 980S are blown. Serial 95-6549 4 ohm. I can see the open on the voice coil but probably cannot do a solder repair. I want ahead and order a pair of 1" titanium foil coils from eBay, not sure if it will fit. Would you have any replacments/commnets?

thx,
