Hello , I am thinking of installing a pair of qsd 216 speakers in my car
does any have first hand experience with them?
I have heard the tweets are a little harsh

if you like the quart sound then you'll bee impressed! the tweeters are not nessacarily 'harsh but definatly have the typical sound if a titanium tweeter, i've only had experience with the sets of older paper cone mid sets, which i think are better sounding but thats me 🙂
if you havent installed a set of quarts before then be wary of the surround on the mid! every set is the same when you screw them down without the supplied grills it 'twists the surround cause it potrudes to the edge of the hole, so watch that it dosent begin to lift. theres probably hundreds of sets that have been destroyed this way over the years 🙂

I am not really sold on a poly cone - I hear that the Q 218 's are good
(POLY CONE ALSO)
how about the Dyn Audio mk240 , people claim they are very "neutral" "musical" is this another way of saying they are dull?:
unfortunately I am unable to listen to either one , no one has them near me. I do have a pair of quart now in my car , I did enjoy them

by 'neutral' they mean that they add nothing to the sound themselves! when you listen to them you hear more of the music not the coloration by the speaker itself, thats a general discription anyway 🙂
dyns sound awsum also, but they are all speakers you really need to hear first, quarts have always excelled with vocals and acoustic instraments, dyns have a very nice midrange and top end especially the threeway sets 🙂

I use MB quart DSD 210 car speakers in my room setup. they sound quite clean. I removed the passive crossover and used LR 4th order crossovers.
the tweeters have a slight bump in the 10-16kHz range of about 3db but the mids (mine used poly cones) are flat.
they sound very detailed.
you can see my setup here.
