Despite my best efforts my understanding of audio stuff and how it all works together is still at zero, all the speakers I've had until now are the result of working with someone vastly more knowledgeable than myself and plugging together exactly what I was told to. I've long since lost contact with this person and now I need to replace everything and I'm really really confused with it all.
My last amplifier was an Amp6 which this person did all the technical stuff to before I got it as a silver box to plug into a battery and some speakers. I decided to get a Maxamp20 as it seemed to be approximately the same as the Amp6 from what I've read and on the advice of others I've been looking at pa horns to improve volume and dispersion, and reduce weight but I have no idea what horns will work with it and how I should connect up to the channels (apparently some amps can be bridged for more power but I have no idea if it's possible with the Maxamp20). I was recommended a 15w 8 ohm horn but there's a 40w 8 ohm horn I'd prefer because it has better mounting options, I don't know whether the 40watt horn will work though because the Maxamp20 is 22.5 watts per channel, however I know that the 4 ohm speakers that worked without issue on my Amp6 were rated as 50watt rms so I'm totally confused. Help?
