Maxamp20 3,5mm jack question

Having a little trouble with my first diy project. I've bought the maxamp20 with 3,5mm jack input and planned on using a minidsp 2x4 to act as a crossover.

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but does the signal remain in stereo after going through a splitter cable and into the 3,5mm jack to come out the maxamp in the respective L and R outputs? Or does the splitter cable/ 3,5mm jack turn the signal back into mono?

Thank you

Funkster -

If you're talking about a splitter that reduces two RCA female plugs to one 3.5mm stereo male - like this:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Then the stereo signal is intact - the right channel hot goes to the 'tip' (outer conductor), the left channel hot to the 'ring' (middle conductor), and both channel grounds are tied together and connect to the 'barrel' (inner conductor) of the 3.5mm plug.

I'm working from dim memory, but I **think** I've got it right....

Cheers

Jim
