I was wondering what the rules are for marking posts as read, without having read them. I work off the main page (diyAudio Forums > Top) and read the forums from there (such as is the custom with e.g. YaBB boards). Well what exactly causes forums to be marked as read, without clicking the link to do it?

It must have something to do with the cookie stored on your computer IMO. I opened the DIYAudio cookie with notepad but didn't get any wiser, except that the word “lastvisit” is incorporated. Playing with that file could maybe solve your answer. But don't ask me what to edit or change.Sch3mat1c said:
