yes and hi thanks for the reply, the sides are curved and i did this with layers of 3mm mdf and polyurethane glue to build it up. why? no reason just for eye candy as they are in the main room where the wife is.

well actually, a really high quality paint job can be far more expensive and painstaking in the long run than veneering (of which I've done lot), or even plastic laminate (for which I don't care on my speaker cabinets)
Hi Jules , they are finished in laminate, I had a load of off cuts laying around. Here's also some oak plinths to make for them but that will be when I get more time.
