1/4 wl would be a different design than usual bass reflex ..and i'm in the impression that bass is better controlled?

Depends on how well designed and executed. It does allow one to use a larger volume to get lower bass without an ugly alignment.

I like them.

Ok i understand, need then to select the well made design .. any suggestions ?
I read a lot about pencils, but thede are BR .. didnt find yet 1/4 designs other than the needle series from omnes audio wich mostly use tang band drivers such as the W4-1879

AFAIK the Pensil designs done by Scottmoose are MLTL variants and hence quarter wave designs.

Pensil is an ML-TL. Lots of them for Mark Audio drivers. The Pensil alignment is such that it has goos midbass punch and reasonable extention, some of the taller ones go lower.

I've just done a brief stock-take (as it were) of quarter-wave enclosures I've done for the MA units. Aside from the pensils, a very incomplete list includes Pudu, Okapi, Gerenuk, Eland, Water Buffalo, Kewel, Sitatunga, Oryx, Hirola, Pangolin, Sea Stack, a couple of unnamed compact QWs for the CHN50, Bastle, The Thin End of the Wedge, and few other unnamed ML-Voigts and twin-pipe Nessie type enclosures for a variety of units in the range. That's not including horns like the FH series etc., and just boxes I've done -there are plenty of others, so there should be a reasonable choice of quarter-wave enclosures out there.

Girraffe for A5..2/5.3, CHN50 is missing from the list and i am sure i could find others.
