This came as a shock. Margaret had been the "Voice of the Metropolitan Opera" for the last 11 years, succumbed to ovarian cancer. She probably had one of the most beautiful speaking voices on FM-Radio (After Allison Steele.)

I am sure that some of her interviews with Met stars will be on WQXR/WNYC -- easier for me to get on the web than over the airwaves as the station had to go to lower power when they moved up the band.

BBC R3 has been carrying the live relay of Opera Live at the Met on Saturday evenings in the UK for some years. I shall miss her presentation.
