I have found a Marconi Transceiver Type AA-1703-2 in my late Grandad's loft. Can anyone tell me what it is and any other general information. Is this something an enthusiast might like to have or will I reluctantly have to dump it?

That seems to be an extraordinarily uncommon boatanchor, going by how tight-lipped Google is on the matter. What sort of frequency ranges and modulations does it cover, is it vacuum tube or solid state (or hybrid even)? Could be something you'd want to drag to the nearest hamfest or ham flea market, I definitely wouldn't just dump it.

Maybe post a picture or two so we can take a guess at the age, what sort of functions it may have, and what it may have been used for originally. It wouldn't have been there had it not been any use to him, so I presume it's some sort of shortwave transceiver that'll cover at least a few ham bands.
