Hi Folks... Been fascinated by this Marconi ML6 and will be delighted if any kind soul out there can help-out with a sketch or whatever, for driving a single-ended EL34 in pentode mode. I'm a newbie, non EE, but am very enthusiastic to learn, to acheives sweet musical fidelity in my diy project.

Sakuma San's ML6 driven 211 uses interstage coupling. Another guru uses 6SL7>ML6>EL34. No schematic posted! Stumbled across another hybrid mu follower preamp using ML6, but am unable to proceed further by my incapacity.

I've a pair of 300H plate choke and am wondering if it can be of any use here. Understand the working parameter at plate is 205v@10mA.

Thanks!

My main objective is to find out how good sounding is a ML6 driver tube. Presently, I've a direct coupled, cathode follower, single-ended EL156 singing!

The only low watter I've ever built is with an 801A tube and no more!

Diy tube amp to me is like my grandson playing with his Lego. 😀

It seems the ML6 is a "6" V. heater version of the ML4. Figure on about 1 W. to the speaker in a SE setup. Given its decent RP and gm specs., it should make a fine driver for an EL34 operating in either triode or UL mode. IMO, the lowish μ of 12 suggests a 3 stage amp or a line stage with considerable gain feeding a 2 stage amp.
