THE USUAL...

Hi,

In case you have a feel for electonics go for the usual suspects by instinct.
Start from the output and work your way down.

In the mean time someone might put a cicuit diagram forward.

What mods do you want to carry out anyways?

Regards,

Hi

Hi Frank,

Yup, this is my planned method of approach.
I was just hoping that someone had a diagram as this
obviously makes things a lot easier.

Planned mods (in no particular order)

Better power supplies, and more of them.
Lots of ideas here regarding isolation between digital
and analog domains (which is notoriously bad on marantz players)

Lower clock jitter - probably with a kwak clock, but may go further
and reclock everything rather than just the source clock.

Descrete IV stage - largely based on the Jocko simple IV, but I have a few ideas for improvements there.

Descrete output and filter stages. A bessel filter is my intention here.

Any more? Just have to wait and see.

Jim.

There were 2 types CD40. This one is a very old one and from about the same time as Philips CD104 IIRC.

The CD40 you probably know is from the same series as CD60 ( plastic case, TDA1541A, bleuish green tube displays etc ).
