I have a Marantz CD 40 which has recently developed a fault with the loading tray. It seems the gear/cog that drives the tray is worn. Does anyone know where I can obtain a replacement??
I had a similar problem with a CD17. I was getting error on the display and so on. Was worried about a non-trivial mechanism change.... In the end I popped off the lid and wiggled and pushed the tray in and out a bit, when the CD was switched off, and it came back to life. Just in case you haven't tried that....
You can find easily. Look for "cdm4 gear wheel" don't buy the 'white' cheapest (around $2) since they make way more noise when opening the tray then the original, one for around $10 in slight brownish color are the best replacement and silent!
