I've been told to use Deoxit, but not sure how on my amp. Do I pull the knobs and shoot the spray down the shaft? Don't want to screw anything up. Thanks for any assistance!
Disconnect everything and make sure the receiver is unplugged.
You're going to have to remove the bottom cover from the receiver.
This should expose all the controls and switches so you can see them from the back with the receiver upside down. Each control should have a small opening for each of it's sections... this is a cleaning port. Each switch will have either exposed contacts, as your input selector does or will have a small cleaning port.
You can use Deoxit or Alcohol sprays. Using a plastic tube on your spray can, place the tube against the cleaning port and spray for about 2 or 3 seconds, some of the cleaner will likely leak out, don't worry about that... as you go run each control and switch end to end rather quickly (bordering on abuse) for a few seconds and let everything dry for about 10 or 15 minutes before reassembling.
8 out of 10 times this gets it. For the other 2 you may need to get it to a technician to have a new volume control installed.
