I'm building a tube preamp and want to use this transformer.
I have a Marantz 2215b power transformer. It has an 8.2 volt (peak) bulb secondary. I count about 2A worth of bulbs and I need 1.46A for the heaters so I'm cool there.
It has two other secondaries. One at 39.9 volts the other at 72.5 volts (peak). And 113.8 when I series them. I could use the 70 volt through a voltage doubler to get around 215v which would be more than enough. This would reduce amperage by a factor of three.
I need about 60 - 80MA total. My question is this, can I be relatively certain that this transformer's secondaries are capable of .250A either alone or together? I know transistors are amperage devices so I assume I'm on solid ground here?
