manufacture date of 6sn7's

I have recently aquired a box of old 6sn7's g, gt, gta, gtb and have no way to figure out the manufacture dates. A couple of examples: ge ff 188-5 and raytheon 280 2-17. Is there anyway to decipher these numbers - is a reference book that covers this available? Thanks in advance for any help.

THE book is "Tube Lore". You can buy it from the author directly: here

188-5 means GE, Kentucky plant. 2-17 might mean 1952, week 17. or 1962...

It's basically the last word in trivia about many tube types, mostly American. Well worth the money.

"TUBE LORE" arrived yesterday and is proving to be invaluable.
Also received a copy of "WESTERN ELECTRIC TUBE DATA" which is a great ref if you are into Weco types. Both came from AUDIOXPRESS.
