Hi Everyone,
Hopefully in the next few month I will be starting a project to replace the factory stereo setup in an 06 Audi A3 to an aftermarket head unit. As some of you may already know the A3 does not have an auxiliary position on the ignition. I am considering a manual toggle to turn on the radio when the key is off.
Since there will still be an ACC line to the radio I will pull another new constant 12V feed and install diodes to prevent any circuit overloading.
Have any of your done this already? Recommendations on Diodes?
I am currently looking at the SB560 as a low drop diode. It is rated 5A 60V
Thoughts?

The Audi has the ignition function in the car CAN (controlled area network) system. Maybe look at some adaptor interfaces from PAC-Audio. These black boxes allow an aftermarket HU to work just like the factory OEM unit. The inteface supplies ignition, night illumination and also steering wheel controls. www.pac-audio.com
