ok...well im looking to build 2 tower speakers out of peerless drivers.
I want to keep my budget at 100-120 bux for all the drivers for both towers not including anything else.

Well theres a list of all of peerless drivers from partsexpress, which is where they will be purchased from.
BTW: Most of the bass is taken care of by a tempest in a 214 liter ported box, tuned to 15.4hz.

If you are looking into Peerless drivers, Bob Brines made a great pair off of Peerless TL speakers based off of Martin King's mathcad files ( www.quarter-wave.com ).

I heard them at the DIY2002 Atlanta event, and they were one of the best sounding speakers at the event. The only fault was that the tweeter was a bit harsh, but the bass was there quite nicely, and it was pretty flat. The series crossover that he uses works quite nicely.
It is a good speaker design and not too expensive using the peerless drivers.

why a tower if yo dont need bass? u could make do with sats only.
i would build a 5" 2way or 6" 2way.

Well.. I was just commenting on the bass was good, but overall, they were very good speakers, considering the overall cost put into them. I want to make a similar TL design using SS 9500 tweeters and 8545 woofers.

the 8545/9500 are an older generation.
there are lots of new drviers out there that might be better.
one option might be (since we are looking at SS) a 2.5 way using the 18W/4531, 15W/4531 and R2904/70000. the only thing i dont like about these drivers is their low impedance. you might have some real low impedance in a 2.5 way
a cheaper alternate can be found at
http://www.d-web.com/dbrown/db61tl.htm
hope this helps.

well then what tweeter and midrange combo should i go with (from partsexpress) if i were to only do sats...Keep in mind that my reciever only puts out 100w per channel, and that i do like listening to my music at pretty high levels.
I have an idea!
For the midbass in my sats. i could use one of these for each sat....

For the tweeters in my sats. i could use one of these for each sat...
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&PartNumber=277-406&DID=7
And to make a center channel with 2 of these...
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&PartNumber=297-600&DID=7
And one of these...

Well give me sum feed back on what you think of my idea, or an idea of your own...and what crossover would i use for these setups.

driver combination
The difference in sensitivity of the drivers make them a poor combination IMO. I think A dome tweeter will match better with woofers in the 5-6" range. If you are not totally set on using a peerless tweeter, I would recommend the audax dome tweeters in the same price range. Hope this helps,
Austin

i would like to make a pair of towers, with the spk being peerless.
i'd like a 3-way with one tweet and two 6.5. one would be midrange and the other would be midbass. now the thing is i 'd like the bottom 6.5 midbass to have a divider between it and the other two spk. hight i would like ti keep around 3.5-4ft tall.
if anybody can give me sum sites that would be awesome.
THANKZ
