For those unreconstructed types (like myself) still building one-offs with perfboard I can heartily recommend the free design software Veroroute. It's available at VeroRoute download | SourceForge.net and works for stripboard, perfboard and single-layer pcbs.
Easy to learn, easy to use and it's cross-platform.

Can you do the same but instead of Gerber files send a bitmap plus its dimensions?
The previous methods work without the need to torture oneself to desperation with clumsy and clunky PCB authoring tortureware.
Never done anything else than Gerbers. But I "think" I have seen some pictorial form of input somewhere. Not sure though.
