Making an integrated amplifier into a preamp only

Hello to all you circuit experts.
I have a Pioneer A-202 with a left channel amplifier output fault. The technician says it's not worth fixing so I'm thinking of turning it into a preamp only. There are two things I would like to do to the unit if I go ahead and do this.
Firstly, I would want to disconnect the power amplifier board completely. This would save on electricity and heat generation. Secondly, I would need to install some left and right channel (pre) outs.
I would think this can be done OK but welcome your thoughts. I don't want to throw the amp out and I have a spare power amp (Yamaha P2200) that I can hook up to it.
Cheers

Hello.

I might be wrong, but it seems easy if you can locate jumpers J6-1 and J6-3 and fashion a pre-out from there. You have already lost the headphone output I assume, since the STK 4152 would be faulty. To disable it, disconnect pins 11 and 12 (see below).

You can also replace it, I found one for 8.99$ on eBay, maybe it's not fake!

Good luck.

Hey Christian,
Thank you so much for your extremely detailed reply (and even checking on ebay for the STK4152 replacement). Really appreciated.
I wont try and rebuild the amp section since I have a great power amp in the P2200 and I really just want to turn the A-202 into a dedicated preamp. I think it will serve that purpose very well.
Thanks again.
