Hello All.
With all this "Frequency Talk", I figured it would be nice for
you to have your own custom sine wave cd.
I've been using this software for years, and, figured itcould
be useful for the person that test, evaluate, and test again.

I've made test tones cd's as low a 1Hz using this program.
Its free, so you can always keep it for future reference or
something
Rock On!! 😎

Hey Omni!
I find NCH great as well. I dont bother making CD's with them though, I just play them through the computers soundcard (obviously windows volume controls should be set to level).

free !that is good!
i have cooledit 2000 which does the same,it does pink white brown noise also..
and sweeps.
when i get a RS spl meter i shall test my main speakers for a start
i expect testing the freq response accurately may take some time and should happen outdoors aswell not just inroom.
im sure there is abit of info on testing speakers properly somewhere.
(funny old philips 4inch and tweeter philips )

Hey Yourself! 🙂
I was doing the same thing until this guy told me, my
soundcard, (Factory Installed) was usless for testing
sinewaves for sub low frequencies.
mikee12345,
I remember when I got my DB meter, I wanted to see
(hear) how loud was 100 dB A Weighted, six feet away,
speakers standing only six feet high. So, I used a Horn
loaded 10, two 12 combination. 😱

All I can say is........... never again, I will torture my ears
in such a manner.

And you, mac guys (me too in fact
) have to get a copy of SpectraFoo FFT / RTA+ / sweep+tone+noise generator. Simply the best of its kind. Demo available at MH Labs website. Sorry for you PCers...
Anyway, you have "Smaart" for you. Not bad...

Since my PC is too far from my hi fi - what tracks would you recommend someone to put onto a test cd?
I figure
1 - frequency chaning, from 20,000 to 0 (over 30 secs? log scale)
do this for each channel - then combined.
what else?
Is there anything that can encode into pro logic - so rear speakers can be tested too?
