hello to all ! i'm new and i 'm trying to build an active exstension
for my acoustic guitar amplifier.
Since i play an instrument that has guitar and bass strings
and an acoustic sound I wish to build an active
sealed an precise sounding subwoofer!
not much power is needed.
I also want to have to have a lightweight sub.
:worried:
the question is :
can the Seas prestige L22 woofer be used as a SUBwoofer???
specs:

what about the minidsp-icepower 125 amplification???
specs:
PWR-ICE for Subwoofer

since i was searching a solution from 6 months or so....
I need an your opinion, please reply to me!
thank to all,bye!
(sorry for my bad english)

Hi Jan,

The Seas can be used for an active subwoofer-system. The simulated SPL by 21L is about 85db and the membrane will move as maximum 1.3mm [close to nothing].
Your woofers weight is about 2,2kg + MDF ~8-10kg + active module.

How does your entire system looks like?!
Do you have some specs of your satellites you want to use with the sub?

hello...thanks very much for your reply...
since of all i play the chapman stick(www.stick.com - Stick Enterprises Inc.)
a 10 stringed instrument with a C low bass string
(2 tones lower than the low E on the bass!)

i tryied very kind of amplifiers...in many years and
at the end i like very much the el.guitar amplifier
but poor in the low end.

Since this instrument need percussive sound(like bass drum)
i wish to add a subwoofer!
i tryed also ported 15'' active sub in combination but
basses are too soft, non percussive sound!

than i'm thinking about a sealed subwoofer with aluminum
woofer driver...ex.the SEAS L22...
but i think about 16 litres ??

also i saw the minidsp can equalizing in a linkwitz bass compensation
to exstend the sub frequency to a very low end...

do you think the SEAS give a poor result as subwoofer??
thank,bye🙂

the other drives are :

6" woofer 80 w 8 ohm seas L16RN-SL :
http://www.hifikit.se/images/6061/h1480-08_l16rn-sl_datasheet.pdf

4" fullrange 40 w 4 ohm seas FU10RB : (there is also the 8 ohm version)
http://www.hifikit.se/images/6057/h1600-04_fu10rb.pdf#

i think to drive theese with a guitar(class AB) head amplifier.
for the sub,i wish to use a guit amplifier(class AB) too...

the goal for me is to use
- a stereo preamp that i have(RANE SP 13)
- the minidsp 2x4:
MiniDSP 2x4 kit | MiniDSP

two guit.ampli thet i have :
100w head for the sub
70w head for the satellite(with a passive xover, but i don't know how to calculate it!)

the speaker SEAS :8",6",4"

may the SEAS L26 be better in a subwoofer use:
