Mains filtering / locking problem Buffalo IIIse

Hi,

I use a dual mono BIIIse with one Legato output stage.
Source is a PC with hermes/amanero to teleporter to dac.
All is power by Placids with torodial transformers.

As I live in a old house I have problems with mains power:

nearly every time a light switch (or other electric operated item) is used the dac looses lock for a part of a second.

The hermes/amanero and the dac are in separate cases, witch are not ready yet and therefore are open. As the amanero is my only I2S source I could not identify yet if the problem is the dac or the hermes/amanero.

What type of "filtering" for the mains would you advice? Or is there an other reason?

Thank you

branko

I had a similar situation some time ago. Even closing the kitchen microwave door would cause the DAC to lose lock. I added power line filters and a shielded case but that did not help.
I was using a hacked I2S signal from a Delta 1010 sound card and sent to the Buffalo via teleporters. I guess it was not the best method to route I2S. Problem went away after I got the Amenero.

Had the problem too as soon as I finished my buffalo 32s, every time i would switch a light on or off the dac lost sync. A dc blocker fixed the issue, search here on DIYaudio. I found the hint at twisted pear support forum if i remember well.
Be safe when working with mains...
