Any hints for connecting 110v mains to these round male pcb pins on the velleman k4700 board? Solder? Some kind of female connector?

So maybe Id wrap the mains wires around those pins and solder? Maybe a heat sink to keep pins from coming loose from the board.
Got any clip wires on your bench? Or a hemostat/clamp-tweezers? Clip your test wire to the post right at the bottom. Or snap a hemostat there. That will act as a heat sink. Solder confidently and it will all be over before anything bad happens anyway.
The same technique works for component leads like resistors or caps.
